SPI Management believes that to best serve our clients, we must attract and
retain the best employees to our security force. We base our recruitment and
training programs on what we've identified as three critical components for
success:,
IMAGE, PROFESSIONALISM, EXPERIENCE
To ensure that our officers possess these crucial traits, prospective
candidates undergo a rigorous Nine Point Screening Process before becoming members of SPI's team.
Nine Point Screening Process
- Application & Writing Skills Testing
- Pre-screening in-person interview
- Verification of previous employment and education
- Military record check, if applicable
- State licensing application
- Criminal background clearance thorough the FBI & State of Wisconsin CIB
- Drug screening, if applicable
- Final interview in-person with human resources
- Personality evaluation testing, if applicable
On average, only one in 10 candidates advance through the process to become a
member of the SPI uniformed force. New hires are enrolled in our Corporate
Orientation Program and incorporates pre-assignment classroom sessions with on
the job training. The OTJ component is customer specific, customized to
the specifications at each customer site and may include:
- Private & Basic security concepts
- Legal aspects of security
- Customer service techniques
- CPR certification when required
- Ethics and professional conduct
- Physical security and crime prevention
- Fire protection and life safety
- Emergency situations
All classroom sessions are conducted by experienced security professionals.
On-site training is provided by SPI supervisory or management staff and is
designed to highlight the details or components unique to each post. Upon
completion of training, officers are prepared for the situations that arise on
their post.
As part of our Corporate commitment to ongoing training, we also offer
in-house Continuing Education Programs conducted by our staff and contracted
professional security trainers. These advanced training sessions can be viewed in our "News and Security Resource Center". |
